I was always fascinated about light and mysterious places and today I painted this cave concept as a continuation of a light-shadow art project I started years ago, during my student years. Although what I did than was a combination of photography and altered paper, now I went further bravely and made a digital painting. I also posted the steps from the thumbnail to final image.

I am very preoccupied right now on trying different painting styles, and I made these environments as an exercise. The dark realistic one was the fastest to make, and the vector like one was more work to do. Still trying new techniques, hopefully I'll come with something more out of my comfort zone.

The beginning of April seems to open up the earth and explode in joy with beautiful flowers. After a long wet winter, the sun is doing its magic and tricks our senses with spring air and blossoms in the hat. The rabbit already had his show with a stunning Easter Sunday the other days. A 20 minutes walk on my street encountered happy discoveries at every little green corner, dandelions in full colour, daffodils with fresh perfume, cherry blossoms madness and golden forsythia explosions. Every shrub had celebration clothes, some with vibrant magenta tones, white accents or pure violet in clusters. What a beautiful day to be outside!

I was very happy the other days to open my mailed package from Canson France and get the most desired supplies I won for the Daily Qwetch Competition: 2 sets of 50x65cm Canson Drawing and Watercolor paper, 5 Canson mixed media A4 Sketchbooks, 3 professional Drawing sketchbooks and another 3 small sketchbooks. I'm all set up with paper for a couple of years! I should get another prize when all are full!
